The snail farm is not a typical 'touristy' destination. It is just a small authentic farm run by a local couple. 

The only registered snail farm of Heraklion region. Located 1km from village Tylisos on a hillside covered by olive trees. Since 2008 Stavros and Vaso breed the local snail species 'Helix aspersa Mueller'. You get a 15-45 min tour (depending on guests questions) and get informed about those incredible creatures. Then there is a tour in the small olive farm. You get informed about olive tree farming and harvesting as well as how the table olives are produced. We give you insights into how we produce our top quality products (30 min).

You will then be seated in the courtyard of our farm hut, beautifully decorated with big photos of snails depicted during breeding season. We offer you a bottle of water and a homemade sweet treat (30 min). You can talk with the owner about local life, products, local culture and anything else you feel like.
